Return to Tales from a draughty old fen

My name is...
Carolyn Perkins otherwise known as Caz. I feel that I have lived forever, born in Cambridge, Mill Rd, 1960. But I have only lived in Cambridge for about 25 years now. Thanks to the streets of Cambridge and its variety of people I have learnt to live my life and survive. Somewhat battered and bruised, but alive.
The word "home"...means to me, home is where the heart is.
I will always remember...
the birth of my three sons. The day I woke up and smelled the coffee. The day I sat in a litter bin in the park, it was pouring with rain. A policeman came walking over to me looking into my eyes he went to say something to me. I shrugged my shoulders, opened my hands as if to say "where do you want me to go". He looked down at the ground and walked away.
I would like to forget...
NOTHING, everything in life is a learning curve, we live and learn.
I enjoy...
most "not sure I should really say pottering about, watching wildlife, music, good company and being nice; it's nice to be nice.
I hate...
the fact mothers bury their children first, cruelty of any kind, taking things too seriously, AND I LOVE MARMITE.
My favourite is...
my garden and my garden pets. I found a little hedgehog in a bad way took him in over winter. I finally had to release him back into the garden as Herbert the hedgehog had a habit of crawling into your bed when you were asleep. And in them 5 months I became an expert on hedgehog poo. My favourite song is World in Union. My favourite drink is vodka, pints of it. Also my children's laughter even though they're in their thirties.
My treasured possessions...
are my sons, my granddaughters, my collection of stones, my cats, my chinchilla named charlie, mind you Charlie has trashed my house, does anyone know of any way to recycle chinchilla poo? But mainly I like to give my possessions away like in the Ian Brown song "keep what you got by giving it away".
If I ruled the world...
I would do away with money, back to some bartering system. All needed things are already provided by mother nature; food drink, drugs, good company.
I am part of Cambridge Link-Up because...
I feel I have something to bring to the table. I have been homeless, addicted to heroin, so I know what it's like to think that no one cares. I feel that Cambridge Link-Up can work if it's run by people who have been there, done that and come through, but never forgotten. We want to offer our help and advice.
